Weight Gain Protein Supplements

Whether it be for sports, bodybuilding, or maybe just for a beach body, a lot of males are interested in gaining weight or lean muscle mass to their bodies. Many people may think that all of the results of gaining muscle come from in the gym, but they are wrong. The biggest factor for lean muscle weight gain comes from nutrition. When working out to gain weight one must make sure they are eating the proper foods at the right time, and supplement their foods with sports supplements, such as a gainer protein powder.

Weight gain protein powders are often a little different than other regular protein powders, as they contain a lot more calories, protein and carbohydrates per serving. Generally a weight gainer protein supplement will contain anywhere from 500-1000 calories, 40-60 grams of protein, and 50-150 grams of carbs per serving. Weight gain protein supplements can often be a little more pricey than normal protein powders because of the ingredients within them, and the number of scoops you will need to take per serving (often 3 or 4, compared to 1 or 2 with normal protein supplements).

A gainer protein supplement is called a supplement because it is used to supplement your diet. The most important factor when trying to gain muscle mass is the food you are consuming throughout the day. If you have a solid healthy diet in place you can then supplement it with these weight gainer protein supplements to ensure your body is getting enough calories, protein and carbs in order to grow.

The best two times we recommend taking a protein weight gainer supplement are after a workout, and 1-2 hours before bed. Depending on your nutritional needs you can choose one of the two, or take the supplement twice a day. Taking the protein after your workout supplies your body and muscle with the nutrition it needs to recover properly, and taking the protein supplement before bed will help keeps your body in a anabolic state while sleeping.

The Best Weight Gain Protein supplements are not always the most expensive. Look for a weight gain protein supplement that isn't too high in sugars, and has about 1:3 ratio of protein to carbohydrates. The protein supplement should also not exceed 1000 calories per serving.

I hope our weight gain protein powder guide has helped you on your quest to becoming more muscular, and more fit!
